Hi Christelle,
You know those quiet moments where you find yourself thinking… “How did I end up here?”
Mid-career (or later on!) decisions often sneak up on us.
They don’t always come with a big “aha” moment - sometimes, it’s just a growing sense that something’s off, or a tiny voice asking: “Is this really it?”
When I think back to the different pivots I made over the years (moving to new countries, leaving the construction industry, stepping into coaching), there are a few things I wish someone had told me earlier…
Here are 3 truths I learned the hard way… maybe they’ll resonate with you too:
-
Clarity comes after action (not before!): I spent years trying to figure it all out in my head. But it wasn’t until I started exploring, asking questions, and trying new things that the path became clearer!
-
Your next step doesn’t have to make sense to others: People raised their eyebrows when I started shifting away from a solid, international construction career. But I was building something that finally felt like me!
-
You’re allowed to want more, and without guilt: Wanting fulfillment, freedom, or alignment doesn’t make you ungrateful. It means you’re growing!
- If you want a deeper look at how I started to empower myself earlier in my journey, I shared more in this article:
👉 5 Steps I’m Glad I Took to Empower Myself as a Young Professional
A Coaching-Infused Reflection
How about you?
What have you learned “the hard way”? – whether it was a career move or something else!
And what about “right now”?
Now, what’s ONE action you WILL take after this reflection? (Yes, right now!)
Take a moment to tune in: what’s ONE small action that feels aligned with where you want to go next?
It doesn’t have to be big: a decision, a conversation, a journal note, a question...
Just ONE thing.
Just for YOU.
