Do you ever find yourself thinking, “I want to do this - but I don’t see anyone like me doing it!”?

And by “like me,” I don’t just mean physically! I’m talking about anyone who shares your background, your education, your experience, your accent, or your way of seeing the world.

I’ve struggled with this too… As I’ve navigated my career shifts (especially the recent one from the construction industry to the “empowerment” world), I often found myself searching for a role model who looked like me or shared my challenges. But most high-level thought-leaders didn’t resonate with me - and I realized I probably wasn’t the only one!

I knew I had something different to offer - something more authentic and relatable - to professionals like myself.

This challenge isn’t just about striving for a senior position or switching industries. It’s also about showing up authentically in spaces where you feel called, even when you don’t see anyone who “looks like you” doing it. It’s about stepping into unfamiliar spaces, like speaking up in meetings, getting involved in professional groups, or simply showing up as your true self at work.

It’s easy to think, “I want to be that version of myself… but where’s my role model?”

And maybe, like I did, you’ve let that question stop you from moving forward.
