Have you heard the expression “to be in the driver’s seat”? – implying that someone is in charge…
But what do we do when we’re “in charge” of going somewhere new to us?
Well, nowadays, most of us type in the destination in our GPS, select a few options (toll roads, shorter, quicker)… and then follow the GPS’ instructions…
But it wasn’t that long ago (for some of us!) that we had to travel with roadmaps, decide which roads to take, know the main directions to follow, keep an eye on the road signs… and hope we wouldn’t encounter too many traffic jams or detours…
So, if you’re in the driver’s seat of your life…
Are you following your GPS’ instructions, or are you setting out your “life journey” yourself?
To be clear – in my opinion, there isn’t a universal answer to this question!
There are times when we only have energy to follow the GPS’ instructions, or the other options are not worth it…
And some of us simply prefer this way of travelling through life…
But for others, to be in the driver’s seat of our life means following our own path, looking at road signs for opportunities, taking a road less travelled…
So, I’m curious:
- What’s your answer to that questions?
- Are you happy with that answer?
- If you’re not, what’s one step you can do right now to start changing it?

- How are you getting on with the ONE step you decided to take last week?
- If yes, how did it FEEL (to take action)?
- If no, what REALLY stopped you?
