Last week, I wrote about getting out of my comfort zone and publishing my first article on LinkedIn.
But what pushed me, drove me, inspired me to do that?
Well, writing has been something I’ve wanted to do since I was a teenager – even if I didn’t do anything about it then…
While getting older, the thought was always there… but I still wasn’t taking any action…
At some point, I realized “writing” isn’t just about writing a novel – in fact, there are many forms of writing…
So I decided to write an article that I could self-publish (LinkedIn) about a topic I knew very well (being a woman in the construction industry, and the many opportunities that this industry offers)... to FINALLY get these 3 things:
Accomplishment: Actually writing the article (about something I knew very well for having lived it for 20+ years!)
Achievement: Publishing the article (self-publishing is fine to achieve this objective!)
Success: Getting some positive feedback (that includes feedback from friends and colleagues in the industry!)
Accomplishment, achievement, success
So, I’m curious:
- How do YOU define accomplishment, achievement and success… so that it EMPOWERS YOU to get out of your comfort zone?
- Are YOU deciding what the definition is, or are you letting OTHERS do it for you?
Empowering yourself - starting with holding yourself accountable…
Last week, we looked at “getting out of your comfort zone”.
This week, I challenge you to:
Define accomplishment, achievement and success in relation to the “something” you identified as really, really wanting to do
Start accomplishing – one step at a time (including very small steps)!
