Hi Christelle,
Now that I’m getting closer to moving into my new home, I find myself thinking back to the resistance I felt at the very beginning of that process:
Not the thinking part.
Not the theoretical research.
But the moment where it meant reaching out, booking visits, moving things forward.
There was so much resistance!
You may recognise this too!!!
That moment when something is clear… and yet, you don’t quite move…
A different way to look at this
It’s easy to label that as procrastination.
Or to think: “I should just get on with it.”
But often, there’s something else underneath!
In my case, I was stepping into something unfamiliar: a new region, a different process, new criteria to understand.
So instead of moving straight into action, I spent time getting clearer:
- Understanding what mattered.
- Narrowing the options.
- Creating a sense of direction.
And it took longer than I expected… But once that clarity was there, things moved quickly!
Within a few weeks, I had found my next home.
Resistance wasn’t the problem.
It was pointing to something that needed attention first!
A question to keep with you
What might your resistance be trying to protect you from?
One simple move
Instead of pushing yourself to do the whole task, reduce the size of the next step.
Not everything.
Just the first piece.
One message. One question. One small action that feels possible today.
One last note
On May 16, 2026, I'll facilitate a breakthrough session titled "What’s Really (I mean REALLY) Stopping You?" at the free Lean In Together MSP - Career Explorers event.
And remember: You’re always welcome to schedule a 30-minute conversation with me to explore whether working together would feel right for you at this stage.
To moving forward at your own pace,
Christelle
